Retired Master Chief Terry Houin is a 26-year Navy SEAL Veteran with operational experience in South/Central America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Central/South Asia, and Africa. His long and distinguished career, with over 17 years at a Tier 1 command, has given him a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Terry’s skillsets include Sniper, Communications, Breacher, Range Safety Officer, Explosives (traditional and non-standard), Fieldcraft, Survival, Leadership, and Pistolero. With more than 2 ½ decades in Special Operations and over a dozen deployments Terry has seen, done, created, and helped refine training, tactics, and equipment.
Our Introduction to Practical Long Range Hunting course is a comprehensive two-day training, with an optional third day available for further learning. This program is designed to equip you with the necessary skills for effective long-range shooting, particularly in hunting scenarios.
During the course, you will learn:
- Safety guidelines essential for all shooting situations.
- Fundamental understanding of ballistics crucial for long range shooting.
- Ethical decision-making in game shooting.
- Bench and prone shooting techniques, utilizing applied ballistics.
- Utilization of range finders and Kestrel devices for accurate targeting.
- Accurate shot planning via effective data input methods.
- Engaging targets from diverse ranges, from 200 up to 1450 yards.
Included in the course:
- High-quality rifles and ammo (up to 100 rounds) for practical learning, although participants are welcome to bring their own equipment.
- Access to various shooting props, bags, and gear, with the option to bring personal equipment.
Upon completion, you’ll be prepared to handle a wide range of hunting situations, employ effective positional shooting techniques, and proficiently use your gear for optimal results. For those seeking deeper expertise, an additional third day can be arranged for an extra fee. The skills gained from this training will significantly enhance your precision and performance in the field.
Group
Immerse your group with the experience of our specialized “Group Long Range Hunting” course. Engineered for up to 6-8 participants, this course is designed to cultivate a sense of camaraderie and shared growth, transforming the complex science of long-range hunting into an enjoyable group journey.
